Yes I know some of these shotguns were recalled, not sure if this is one of them. The article I found suggests that Sears was the only distributor out of three that issued a recall, more as a CYA than the shotgun was actually defective. The complaint I read says the user opened the action and pulled the bolt open and it came out of the receiver and hit him in the face, apparently from a retaining screw on the bolt that came loose.
