Judge rules part of Patriot Act unconstitutional

At least it's a start in the process of dismantling the travesty. And it helps to bring the 4th Amendment back to its rightful place. Of course the the government is likely to appeal this since they hate giving up any of their power. Good on the judge for ruling as she did and reining in the predators.

The government will abandon the patriot act as soon as we can think of a way to successfully argue that it is racist. Anything you call racist suddenly becomes kryptonite. Technically, it is a racist policy though.

The amazing part is that they ever thought for a second it WAS constitutional. Whats that saying about how people who sacrifice freedom for security deserve neither?

I would like to be excited about the news.........but, I recall a district court Judge finding the NFA unconstitutional once also. And that ruling was overturned by the Supremes. Just saying.

It won't matter. The feds will appeal and the Supreme Police State Advocates will support them.

I think it does matter. It shows there are still people in office worth their salt. Put people like that on ballots and this country hasn't wandered astray as far as we sometimes believe. Getting to where we are didn't happen overnight nor will getting us out of this mess.
