i just got out of a g27. Great firearm. Grab a 357sig barrel or a 9mm and have all three. Great. I went up to g23. Once in the 23 saw little reason for the 27, but THATS ME.

Still miss the g27, but don't regret it leaving the safe. just Give it a minimal tlc and it will give you years of love.

A Glock 33 barrel will drop right in and then you have a magnum class subcompact. I carry a g33 everyday. 357 sig is a awesome round!

Glocks may not win the prettiest gun beauty contest, but when it comes to functionality and dependability, they're hard to beat, and they don't break the bank. I have one Glock, a G20. Nice pistol.

    Congrats!

the G 27 was my second handgun, still have and carry it a lot.
Echoing what's been said - PRACTICE! If you can learn to shoot this gun well, you'll be able to shoot (basically) anything with reasonable accuracy.

Should be good to go. Lots of police departments issue them as back up guns. The nearest big metro to me issues Glock 22s with the 27 as a backup, although I have seen one uniformed officer with a Glock 27 as his primary in his duty holster. Looked a little odd to have a subcompact on a duty belt but I guess he liked it better than the G22. Should be a pistol that serves you well for many years to come.

I have 2 G27s and like them a lot. Here's a tip: if you go to the range with both a 9mm and a G27, shoot the G27 first. The only time my G27s feel snappy is if I shoot them after shooting 9mm target ammo. Shooting the G27 first gives a more honest impression

I carry a 1911 now. I'll keep the Glocks. Some are rare colors, Tupperware models, compensated, unfired fishgill 23, family duty guns. Most reliable brand. And I know.

G27 was my second Glock - my first was a G19 police trade-in - and I carried it for 10 years. Never had any trouble with it and the only reason I don't have it anymore is because I wanted to go to .45acp for reasons. Interestingly enough, to me, anyway, a G26 we owned felt too snappy to me; and the G27 recoil seemed to me to be less snap than push. I carry a .40S&W on a regular basis today, and occasionally a 9mm or a .45acp. I like them all. I certainly like my Glocks.

My daily carry is the 26 Model. Great gun and the same size as yours.
Very comfortable with a good holster.
Never had one failure. They just work.

Congrats, it will serve you well. But a big +1 on the 9mm conversion barrel. Glocks tend to breed, next thing you know you’ll have 5.

    Yep your exactly right.

zz47331, hang on for the ride as a 1st time Glock buyer...more are headed your way. However, many models can use the same holster. Magazine compatibility is a huge plus as well. Now you'll have to start looking for G23 mags as well as the 22-round .40 fun sticks. I stay with factory Glock mags; they're the most reliable. I do have some Magpul 9mm mags and they've also worked great so far. Korean knock-offs...I'll pass.

Enjoy your 27, I don't have that one yet...hmmm...but I do have mags that would fit it! See how easy it is to acquire more?

I was reminded in another thread the g17 gen 5 is a total redesign and there have been some hiccups with the new barrel and feeding ammunition. So I'll say up until the g17 gen 5, I have been impressed with owning and shooting probably 35 different Glocks without an issue. Very reliable IMPO.

I had a 26 but didn’t like how it would pinch me where the mag touches the bottom of the grip. I’ve got a 43 that I really like a lot ! No pinching with it ! 26 was a gen 4. My 43’s a gen 5. Shoot your 40 and love it. If you don’t like totally trade it in on a new one... many more options
