The only issues I have ever encountered (or heard about), are only two:

    1. Cheap-a$$ after-market mags that have cheapo springs to begin with can eventually become an issue... altho I have heard this is more common in calibers .32ACP, .380 and 9mm.

    2. Rimfire mags, that are older (or super-cheap after-market) can have issues loading the last round or two properly into the chamber..... if kept fully loaded for long periods. They may load up, but if you remove one, unfired, from the chamber, you MAY find the bullet is being "shaved" a bit as it entered the chamber.

In a 'self defense' CF pistol, for example, I will keep one extra fully loaded mag, plus the one in the gun. Other spares are kept empty.... till the next range trip.

I've always heard from "self professed experts" that springs wear from compression/expansion, not from just being compressed. I typically keep mine fully loaded (except AR's which get 28 not 30, only for easier reloads especially with a closed bolt).
