Ive had both. Equally accurate IMO.

The sub 2000 has the advantage of folding, and using double stack pistol mags for more capacity.

the hipoint has better sights, and is more comfortable to shoot. PLUS for me the barrel was super easy to thread for suppressor use.

I had both, and sold both, but if I were to buy one again it would probably be the hipoint despite the fact it doesnt take double stack mags. The sub2000 was just uncomfortable for me to shoot. IF the sub2000 was ever available in S&W M&P mags, that might tip me over the edge.

Zombie Thread Resurrection, but I have all 3 HPs and a S2000 in Beretta .40

    I say other, BUY B0TH!

But if you can only afford 1,
Then consider the magazine availability..(Keltec +1)
    Consider the average Price....................(HiPoint +1)
    Tacti-Cool Ready...................................(HiPoint +2)
    Concealed Carry, Folded........................(Keltec +2)
    Weight..................................................(Keltec +3)

That's about it, but IMO the HP is easier to shoot, but lots heavier.
The Extra Weight (Still less than my AR) reduces recoil quite a bit.
I am here looking at old Sub2000 threads cuz I just shot mine for the
first time, and after the first 10 rounds, it has been flawless!
2 FTE, but I might have been not shouldering it well enough...

My 2 x 20 round Beretta (promag) magazines were great!
Actually can get 23 in there, but I just loaded 21, one to chamber
and run at the rated 20 rounds. Harder to get a cheek weld than
an HP, but my son did and it slapped him back in the face??
    Odd

I need to shoot the 4095 against the S2K .40 as a direct comparo!

Since you said a baby is on the way and funds will become tight in the future. May I toss an alternate to look at. If you have a glock or 1911 pistol already, the MECH-TECH upper is something to look at. Ive read a couple of reviews and it may fit the bill your looking for. Your buying nothing new because your using what you may already have.

I have a Sub2000 in Glock 9mm, like it a lot. Bought it because it can use my Glock mags and fit in a range bag when folded. A friend has a Highpoint. He likes it.

Have both, and like both. The Hi Point is WAY more comfortable to shoot, because you have to cook your head down to get an eye on the Keltec sights. The Keltec, however, may or may not be folded up in my ghb as we speak. I'd seriously consider a 9 mm AR upper, too. No experience, so no comment on the JRC's.

For me, it ALWAYS comes back to purpose. What do you want to do with the gun? I too have both and to me, the Sub2000 is more of a "toy". I love that i can use pistol mags, it folds. It has a really high "cool factor". However, IMO it is limited as a rifle weapon. For home defense, plinking, novelty, and sheer fun...Sub 2000 is awesome.

However, if you're wanting a tactical "rifle" to use for "rifle" purposes - tactical defense classes, longer range shooting (obviously the 9mm has limitations at this point), using to practice AR operation, etc - I would lean toward the AR platform. For me, weapon selection always begins with intended purpose. I'm just saying...

I have had no issues at all with the Hi-Point 9mm Carbine. Cannot speak to the Kel-Tec, but I can say you would be very happy with your Hi-Point 9mm Carbine results.

Thinking of SELLING my ~50 round count 995TS, 4 mags total, AFG2 installed, and some optional items ;)
I just do not shoot it! I have a PSA AR-9 with 32 round mags so I kinda don't need the 995TS :rockwoot:

This is not a for sale thread, so no prices listed :(

I'm going to retract my earlier statement and strongly suggest that one might buy an AR at this point because of the price coming down so much. If one WANTED to go 9mm later, a 9mm upper and mag block wouldn't be too expensive.
