The wife and I took the tour and tasting at James B Beam this week and it was well worth the price of admission...

Wife and I are in Louisville today. Going on a Beam tour this afternoon. Did you do the mixology class?
We did not. Just the tour and tasting. Early morning, mid week, it was just us and two others.

Curious to see how packed your tour is being on the weekend.

Next up for us is Maker's or Woodford...

The JD distillery in Lynchburg is definitely worth a visit. We went this past weekend with a small group from Nashville. Tipsy tours with host Clay and driver Jay made the whole trip interesting and fun.

Evan Williams Experience in downtown Louisville was a fantastic start to the bourbon trail for me. Very informative about history and process, plus they actually produce about two barrels a day that are stacked and aged on location downtown.

Old Forester in Louisville was interesting and had the bonus of actually having their own cooperage on site.

For a lesser known, but excellent brand, check out Jeptha Creed in Simpsonville. Small, family owned, and they grow their own corn.

Got to stop at the Jepta Creed visitor center on the way to a tour at Bulliet long enough for a quick tasting. Left with 3 bottles. IMO, the tastings at Old Forester and Bulliet are the most educational. Although, drinking free bourbon anywhere is never a bad thing.

While travelling through Louisville, go to the UPS facility at the airport and pick up all of your packages that have been lost for the last six months.
