Stop by the noaa national marine sanctuary building. There is a display case showing some civil war rifles recovered from an old shipwreck. It's pretty cool. Be sure to check out the divers who found the stuff.

Only been once and it is on my list of return destinations. Key West has the best of everything for a destination. I usually describe it as have the raw, grittiness of New Orleans but run by Disney so it is clean and safe. We would walk back to our hotel at 2:00am and you weren't checking your wallet or looking over your shoulder every couple of steps.

Some of my favorites:

• Walking and relaxing
• Sunset every night on Mallory Square
• Sloppy Joes
• Sampling the many bars
• Sampling the many restaurants
• Blue Heaven for breakfast
• Hemingway House
• Mel Fisher Maritime Museum
• Butterfly House
• Sail/Snorkel/Kayak (as I recall we used Danger Charters mentioned above)

Note there is really not much of a beech so if sitting in the sand is your desire you may be disappointed. Lots of good advice in this thread. Check out reviews and forums on TripAdvisor. Choose what you enjoy and have fun.

Agree, we went there several times for breakfast.

Also try BO's, best conch fritters I found in town BO's Fish Wagon

We also spent a very fun evening at Irish Kevin's. Had music playing comedian act on stage, was a blast. I also ended up on stage in a singing contest.... fun was had by all!

The shenanigans at Irish Kevin's are hard to beat. Some drunk idiot tried to start a fight with my GF last time we were there. I just lol'd while he was shown the error of that decision. That same night there was another drunk idiot who lost a bet and had to buy a round of Jager for the entire bar. He spent close to $2k there that night.
