My dad just tried Kickstarter on new product he has designed and I thought I would check and see if any of you have used the kickstater before and what type of success you had with it?

I like the product! I put my phone in a cup holder in my car to simulate the effect but this is cool for countertop

Haha thats funny you say that, he actually got the idea from dropping his phone in a mixing bowl.

My old three and four wheelers have kickstarters.
Electric start is sooo much nicer, though.

I backed my first one and it ended May 4. Guy said it would ship in July.... still nothing. At least he gives regular excuses / updates. It's stopped me from backing other interesting products.

Not to get all idealist on you....but don't support it to prebuy something, support it cause you believe in it. Now I don't do products, I generally support documentaries and cds and stuff.
