Kimber barrel issues

Anyone have a Kimber with the barrel getting discolored after shooting? I have read numerous other threads on other forums about this problem with Kimbers and also how crappy the KimPro II finish is!! I have a Kimber Tactical Pro II that is starting the barrel discoloration and 2 other people who have the Tactical II's with the same problem. I am thinking about ordering a Bar-Sto drop-in barrel and be done with the Kimber barrel all together.

And please only respond if YOU actually own or owned a Kimber. I'm tired of people giving their "opinions" on the subject when they have no actual personal knowledge on the subject. Rant over.

I own 11 Kimbers. A Tact Pro II is my daily carry. I haven't had any issues with barrel discoloration or the finish. My Tact Pro is one of the first ones when they were still a "special edition", though.

I own 2, the one 5" Custom II I shoot at Steel matches a lot, no discoloration at all.

I think I will google this subject and see what the hub-bub is .

Also an Ultra Carry here. Mine is a Series I and has had a few thousand rounds through it. Still looks new.

I have a Grand Raptor II and haven't noticed anything.

I've put several thousand rounds down my Tactical Custom II and there has been no discoloration of the barrel.

Two here and no problems at all. Ultra and a Pro.

I would suggest cleaning the gun.

Kimber Aluminum Stainless Compact here.
No barrel discoloration for me.
It doesn't have a Kim Pro finish so I can't speak to that

My stainless raptor ultra carry started to have a little discoloration. I let it soak in Hoppe's for a week and the stainless shine came right back.

No discoloration, but I ringed my Kimber Stainless Target II barrel after 13000ish rounds. I believe I pushed out leading one too many times with jacketed bullets. I "dropped in" a Wilson barrel/bushing without too much issue.

Stainless TLE RLII here and other then rust developing on the barrel, no discoloration. I clean my guns very well after each outing and I dont know why it is rusting like it is. Although I have seen the same thing going on with other kimbers at gun shops.
