^^ Well, unless those STI's sell for way below MSRP, those aren't anywhere close to the $1k price range. ^^

I spent 1400 on this. I've purchased many Kimbers so far, 0 regrets with any of them. Not saying STi don't look nice, I just have history with Kimber.

Top Guns in Terre Haute had one it looked great and felt great. I've got the Sapphire, the same gun only in blue and I'm very happy with it. I have 4 Kimbers and I love all of them. Go for it.

Darn nice looking gun, congratulations! Is that a 45 or 9? Son's gave me a Kimber Solo 9mm earlier this year, so far can't say anything bad about it at all. I have only put about 50 ~ 60 rounds through it so far, but NO issues. Really like the grip angle on mine, points instinctively for me, more accurate than my 45, very nice to carry concealed.

That's a really nice looking gun. I used to have a Kimber Ultra and never had an issue with it. I miss my snub-nose .45 now. Congrats!

My first concern was the shine on the slide. Kimber says it's unscratchable (probably to an extent). I've had a few kimbers in the past but this is my first ultra size. It fit really well, I really dig the slim grips on it. It is on the expensive side for me for an EDC, but I still couldnt pass it up. I think it's classy, not flashy or gaudy like say a full nickle shined 1911 gov. size (although I do like those, just not for EDC).
