Justin Gingrich - who started Ranger Knives back when he used to live in Columbus, GA - is good people. (Southern phrase.) The line goes through Ontario now and Justin lives in Blue Earth, MN and still does customs by hand. I spoke to him a few weeks ago and he is doing well.

The RD series is good and a quality steel at a nice price. Enjoy! I used to have a RD9 from some of the original Busse apprentice blanks that Justin originally used in his production.

Pictured with an old Becker desert BK9 when they were still being manufactured at Camillus.

I must say, after posting my "pair" on the internet, I never would of thought that someone would associate it with drbarnes. Impressed.

    Maybe a little offended.....kidding!

Sincerely, lovely knives. Those are SAR8's?? :): MOST impressive!

On closer inspection, one looks to be a SAR 8 and one is a SAR 6. [Examines closely again.] Yeah, one knife looks larger than the other.

Still, impressive pieces. Sadly my Christmas knives didn't look nearly so well presented. :D

Probably Solingen Germany. Some great steel came from Solingen and I try and pick them up with I see them. They are great users and not only take an edge but hold it too. Congrats on the find!! :rockwoot:
