The shore of wonderful Lake Michigan
that black one is a bad mofo!!!

    FANTASTIC WORK!

i am loving all the knifemaking that is going on! you appreciate the pieces so much more when you know how hard they are to create! sort of like going to a car lot. they are all shiny and new...... but do you want a nissan maxima or a 350z? sometimes you want the maxima.... but you always want to DRIVE the 350z! pride of ownership.... not universally available.

I thought that black one was going to end up in the scrap bin on more than a few occasions. I'm actually glad I stuck with it and kept fixing the little issues and got it done. Not sure If I'm going to keep or try to sell that one. I could use the money to buy more steel.

I do like seeing all the other makers knives on here. While I've liked knives pretty much since birth, I've never really paid any attention to all the little custom makers until the last six months or so (since I started reading on making them myself and trying my hand at it). There are quite a few up here in the northern part of the state and I never knew it.

I agree that after trying my hand at attempting to make some knives, I have a whole new appreciation for what goes into them. My wife, on the other hand, doesn't appreciate the money and time it takes for some reason.
