this is awesome.... way better than south korea selling the arms we gave them in aid to some third world country to be used AGAINST us at a later date... plus these rifles will go back into the hands they deserve to be in.

Guys need to check this out:

    M1 Garand Sales

That is nice that we sent over our troops to fight for their rights and they are polite enough to SELL our guns back to us?!?!?!? I hope we buy them back cheaper than heck. I'd love to get an M1 Garand, but I can't drop $1000 on one.

    $100,000,000/108,000= $925.93 per rifle

Looks like they value the garand's and carbines at $925.93 a piece on average. Not such a great deal.

M1's used by the Koreans are notorious for not being in the best of condition. Or at least all of the Korean imports I have seen haven't been in very good shape.

Lets hope they sell a boatload of 3006 surplus, too. At dirt cheap prices.

Also, if these were given to Korea under the lend-lease program, shouldn't they simply be returned to the US Army and then transferred to the CMP? I don't see how Korea can sell these back to us.

From the way I read it. They are going to sell them in the states. Not turn them over to the CMP to sell. Guess we will have to wait to see how it works out.

The value was set at 100,000,000, they are hoping for 10's of millions from the sells. So prices would be a lot less.

Yes, it says tens of millions at the end, but it also says

sell up to 86,000 M1 Garand rifles to gun enthusiasts and collectors in the United States. Along with a reported 22,000 M1 carbine rifles, the total value of firearms for sale exceeds $100 million.

    Hopefully they come in cheap:rockwoot:
