Yep, that's a sign of the times. The gun grabbers are making noise but the gun owners aren't, so companies figure if they do something it'll ease things on their business. I recall back in the 80's when several convenience store chains announced they would stop selling porn, and lots of liberals got all hot and bothered when that included Playboy, which most people didn't consider to be porn.

Bugs me that Kroger is doing this, especially when there was no controversy over them selling gun magazines. They probably got some phone calls and emails from anti-gunners complaining and they figure they won't lose business from gun owners if they stop selling them. It won't affect me directly since I already subscribe to G&A and Firearms News.

I doubt they received any calls or emails. I think they did this in order to 1) Get some attention to the name Kroger and 2) Virtue Signal that they are doing their part to #NotOneMore dead children.

What bugs me is the implication, intended or not, that we are part of a criminal element that has no place in society. This bugs me so much so that I have stopped shopping at Kroger.

    Could be anywhere
Just got back from mine...checked the mag isle which I normally don't walk down. 9 Guns, Hunting, and outdoorsman mags on the rack all with guns displayed on their covers. :dunno:

Little late on this one. My family and I were Kroger faithfuls until this crap. We switched to Meijer instead. Yesterday after we were done shopping I had a weird feeling so told the wife I needed to go check the magazine aisle. Low and behold they have got rid of the gun mags as well. I then went to the "sporting goods" aisle and all their ammo had "clearance" tags on it. I was stewed, so asked an employee what was up. I said "excuse me, looks like you guys are like Kroger/Wal-Mart etc., and phasing out the gun stuff huh"? She said "YUP! Finally! Pretty nice huh"? I said "yeah, if you're a nut".
    Now where? Lame.

    Fort Wayne, or close
I saw this elsewhere a couple of weeks ago. Checked my local Kroger on 3/17 & again on 3/24. The gun magazines had actually been moved up to the top shelf instead of hiding on a lower shelf. Will check again this weekend.

The statement I saw didn't say they were eliminating all gun magazines, just certain ones based on specific content. In the context of what's happening in the country right now, I'd say that mags specifically about "assault rifles" or featuring them on the cover are likely to be discontinued. "Guns & Ammo" will likely be gone since every other cover has an AR and they publish their annual "Book of the AR-15."

If that’s the case gun magazines will adapt to the market distribution challenge.
