Lairds law and the red flag laws being put in place have nothing to do with suicides however so i don't believe thats pertinent

Not agreeing, or disagreeing with these, but merely showing that you're wrong - red flag are more of a tool to prevent suicide than mass murder. They're being present now for consideration because of the knee-jerk reactions after every mass shooting.
