I just have a way with words that makes some people mad. Does that count?

On a side note, I understand cajun.

But I can't usually make heads or tails of ebonics

I'm pretty fair at English grammer, spelling, punctuation, and I know where the Shift key is. This apparently means I'm not very good at Forumish.

Lived in Brazil for 6 months and am fluent in Portuguese (not very useful in Indiana), but I can understand some Spanish because the two languages are similar.

    No.

I took 2 years of Russian in college. I sucked at it.

    and Russian sucks.

Russian doesn't suck. You may be inept at it but it isn't the languages fault. I was a Russian Linguist for the US army for 4 years. Lived on the economy in FRG for about 3 years and learned some German and had 3 years of french in H/S that let me test out of 4 semesters of french in College. The problem now is trying not to speak in three languages in the same sentence.:D

After being a cop for 13 years I have become pretty fluent in drunkenees, hillbilly, and ebonics..........not sure how much that will help when SHTF, but it comes in handy now.

Knowing Spainish would be very helpful in my area or just about anywhere now. I always wish I knew what they were saying. On second thought, it is probably just as well I didn't.

Easy to pick up languages when you are a kid but I doubt I could get very far these days. My mother was French and I lived on the left coast when i first came to the US, so Spanish was a necessity.

Talking with neighbors while growing up accounts for the others. I could probably say "can I hunt baboons here?" in more languages than I can recall.

I have high school and college German but am forgetting the verbs over the years.

    Is baboon good eatin'?
