The Pics of that S&W revolver "Kaboom" have been floating around the net for quite a while.

This reloading moron overcharged his cartridge so much that it blew open the cylinders and cartridges on either side of the offending cartridge. When will people get it that more is not always better?

This was posted somewhere on here two weeks ago with a link to the original owner that explained that it was an error on Smith and Wesson part due to manufacturing mistakes made with the cylinder being a conical shape. He also stated that it was factory loaded ammunition.

The above is wrong. Thank you,

    M629 BLOWUP

[FONT=Verdana, Helvetica, Arial] A guy came into our department the other day to ask a favor. He had a S&W 629 that he wanted to dispose of after a mishap at the range. He said there was a loud bang when he tested his new load and the gun smacked him in the forehead, leaving a nice gash. When the tweety birds cleared, this is what he saw.....

After searching the internet for a while I found what I was looking for and then some. I found the post I was originally talking about. Then that lead me to another, then another, and then another. So this is how I have spent my last 45 minutes. I found this

Why you should be careful when reloading.......... - Sniper's Hide Forums

    This lead me there

Think ya used a bit too much powder, Butch? - Page 6

don't know how much truth there is to any of it anymore. :dunno: I searched some more and came up empty handed. I tried to seach some more and ended up at a dead end. :noway:

Tried to look at your pictures and all I see are red X's. :n00b:

Just hope that it doesn't happen to me tomorrow.

That is what I thought to, but then I read the second to last page and then the last page. My thought then changed.
