The INGO FAQ has (see my sig) has some info on firearm-restricted areas (Schools, airports, casinos, etc...). The same restrictions apply to long guns as to (legally carried) handguns.

Outside of those restrictions, you can carry a long gun however you want. I think most folks will keep them cased while in the car, simply to protect the gun. It is not illegal to carry it loaded and next to you on the seat, however.

Not all casinos in Indiana are created equal.

In the I.C., the only casinos that are verboten are the riverboat casinos.

Yeah, yeah, I know.... Just giving examples, and redirecting him to the FAQ and the real I.C.. Technically, you CAN carry in schools, to. Its just hard to get the appropriate authorization.

Would anyone know if the same rules would apply in KY or TN? I have no desire to carry it locked and loaded while visiting those states, however would like to take it with me so I can plink with buddies. :)

You're going to have to do some research on TN and KY. I think KY honors IN carry permit. Not sure about laws on long guns though.

So wait a minute, if I want to carry my rifle, or shotgun, loaded, WITH A ROUND IN THE CHAMBER, I CAN DO THAT???? For some reason I always thought they could be loaded without a round in the chamber. Don't know why that would make much difference, but, I am glad to hear this.
