I've got a #4 that looks, acts and feels like a #5(other than a slightly heavier contour Shilen under the handguards).

    Does that count for anything?

they should be no.4s the no.5 is just marked so with some nifty alterations to make it a carbine

I've got an ishpore carbine, that count?

Joe, is that originally chambered in 303 British? Or was it rechambered in 308? Or was it originally chambered in 308? One of the things that attracted me to the No.5 Jungle Carbine is that it was originally chambered in .308, which I thought was pretty unusual for the Lee Enfields.

Are you bringing it to the INGO shoot on April 30th?

Bryan, only you would put a high quality target barrel on a $150 gun :D

Saw one at the local gun show, but something told me it wasnt the real deal. The fella wanted $350.00 but it had no ordinance markings around the grip band where the stock meets the trigger. In .303 too.

    To LazyDog (et alia),

    I have a No 1, Mk III, a No 4, Mk 1, an No 2A, and a No 5, Mk I.

I have a buddy who I hope to purchase a N1 Mk V from and eventually get a No 1 Mk VI, but we shall see.

All of mine are in British .303 save the 2A which is in 7.62 NATO.

I am trying to collect all of the major battle rifles of the European and American forces for the 20th century.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Doug

    I have 2 of them.
One in near unissued condition that I got from a gun shop that was selling it from an estate.
It even came with the original receipt from when the deceased guy bought it in the 1950's.
I forget the cost off the top of my head, but I think it was $35.
