That could be.Except for any active malware on someones PC (stealing contacts, etc)... is this a bad actor harvesting court case data from some .gov site and emailing out bogus correspondence? That would seem like a lot of effort for a few $.
It was a pretty easy "contact name" spoof. That is, the name as it showed up in my inbox was known to me, but the actual reply email address was a completely different site.
The thing that made it interesting to me was that I actually have received emails from them about a year ago. This email account was part of a data breach a few years ago, so "they" knew that it was valid at one time. It may be that they cross referenced senders/receivers and that's how it got past the spam filter.
