Seems like there are some manufacturers coming out with Lever Actions in 410, they sound really appealing but the msrp appears to be in the $1100 plus range. Given around here it’s near impossible to find any 410 shells, and when you do find them they are pricey. So I guess as much as I love the idea of a lever action 410 it seems hard to justify.

they’re easy to romanticize for sure. i have to remind myself it’s because I think any lever action is cool, especially shotguns - but not especially .410s. I hope that makes sense lol

The Winchester 9410 was pretty neat, a friend had one and it was fun to shoot. Weird aside, someone shipped me some architectural plans back in the day and for some reason used a factory Win. 9410 box wrapped in paper to do so. I get this package from UPS and when I rip the paper off I see a gun box. For just a minute I thought I'd won the lottery.

I picked up the lever 12 gauge that was on here for sale. Its fun, looks nice and shoots good. Works great if you work the lever fast. Ejection is weak if go slow needs stronger ejector spring that I have not changed yet.

My son shoots a Mossberg .410 and it’s impossible to find shells for. Last box I picked up were $20 for target loads. It’s a nice scattergun and it fits him well, but insanely expensive to feed.

I wanted to buy a 410 over/under , but then I started looking for shells , at gun show they were selling for 50 dollars a box , thats stupid. I decided to forget about 410s , at least for now.

I have a Henry .410. It's kind of funny because it's built around the 45-70 and so it looks like a real thumper... then you pull the trigger.

As stated above, it's pretty much impossible to feed right now so it sits in the back of the safe.

I shot trap for years without reloading, as 12 gauge were always easy to get and reasonably priced. I started shooting .410 in other games and saw that reloading was a must. 1/2 the lead for over twice the price, when you could find any. I even had to mail order new hulls, because I could not find enough Remington .410 shells to even get a supply of used hulls.

    Even worse for 28 gauge.

So, only 10 varieties currently available on Midway USA equals impossible to get?

It's not cheap but available at $18-$21 a box for standard target loads.

Dont be afraid of the 410. Extreamly cheap and easy to load for. I even made my own press from scrap. Local gun club has tons of once fired hulls and everything needed. I want to say 7 bucks a box of loaded rounds is where I am at. Loading reclaimed mixed shot. Wonderful in the squirrel woods.
