    Count me among the snobs.
I see my Henry as “analog” in a “digital” world.
I only allow Skinners on my Henry keep me honest.
Put a scope on some bolt-action work-horse if you need to drive tacks.

Do you keep WiFi in your log cabin?
Would your John Wayne costume include kydex?
How about plastic grips on your Colt Python?

Well sort of plastic i mean space age polymer grips on the Python.

But seriously I see what you mean. I did a little experimenting today it was 60 degrees here. I took a rifle with a scope on it and iron sights on it and for distances i would be shooting at the iron sights were faster for me to put on target than the scope. The only variable was that it was a cheap scope, not sure where it came from but it actually says JC Penney on it so no telling how old it is.

My Python got Hogue rubber grips.

And my 99 got a scope, but being a 1935, didn't want to D&T it. What the Lightfoot mount did allow, was range testing.
Which told me the ol rifle shot good, and that if I wanted a scoped 99 to get a lighter one, factory D&T.
Do think the Win 94 stuff looks pretty horrible w scope, the Marlins not as bad.

IMHO the old EG by weight and look, mandated a tang peep. The scope system worked, but changed the whole feel of the rifle.

I wouldn't trade my 17 for the world. It's a great little round.

Now for putting a scope on a lever gun.....nope! Total blasphemy!

I sold my Henry and bought a Savage bolt gun. Like a crew cab truck with a short bed. Just ain't right.
