They use these type of phrases to try and frame the argument to portray the opposition as unreasonable and anti-common sense.

It's a ploy that I consider to be intellectually lazy. Maybe that's why it's so effective with the "average American Idol watcher".

I don't get it:

1) It's ALREADY illegal for "criminals and dangerous people" to purchase firearms. Why are they not being prosecuted under existing law?

2) It's ALREADY illegal to smuggle firearms from the US to Mexico. Where is the US Border Patrol? Why is this free-flow of arms being allowed by Mr. Obama's administration?

3) Most likely the people doing all this are not US citizens but rather illegal aliens operating illegally in the US. Why are they being freely allowed to enter the US?

There seems (as is typical) to be a major disconnect between Mr. Obama's mouth and his administration's actions!

I suggest that if you've not written your Senators and Representative about this, now would be a good time to do so.

Common sense is the farthest thing from his objectives. Common sense would never let fast & furious occur. Common sense would be enforcing the existing gun laws (targetting the criminals). Common sense would be tightening the borders. Common sense would be to put people to work for their government handouts. Common sense would be to look towards balancing our budget and reducing our national debt.
