I realize what I'm about to propose would be not only illegal, but a travesty to fish, under NORMAL conditions. As implied in the title it wouldn't be used under normal conditions. Has any one thought of adding GILL NETS to their survival gear. I bought three from AMAZON, just in case.

Among my fishing gear you will see 3 gallon buckets. I use them because 5 gallon is too big and 3 gallon is different enough to easily tell apart from the 5's. In those 3's are cast nets. I have lived places where they are legal and they are not hard to master. Gill nets are more effective in streams or neck down areas but can also be used by 2-3 people in flats. It pays to know how to use or set these up before you need them.
