(this post is copied from rambone's post here and I hope he doesn't mind me using his template)

We often discuss our encounters at various stores and report back to the forum, whether they be good or bad encounters, regarding their official stance on carrying guns. The goal of this thread is to create a consolidated list of pro-gun & anti-gun stores in Northwest Indiana. If this goes well other people may want to create a thread listing stores in your neck of the woods.

This thread will entail "District 5," defined as:
    Marion County
    Boone County
    Hamilton County
    Hancock County
    Shelby County
    Johnson County
    Morgan County
    Hendricks County

    ANTI-GUN BUSINESSES
The Anti-Gun list will entail stores that have an official policy for restricting carry in their stores. This might have been determined by a visibly posted sign, an encounter with a manager, reading the employee handbook, etc. If at some point the store vindicates themselves we will make a note of it.

    GUN-NEUTRAL BUSINESSES
The Gun-Neutral list contains a list of businesses that have no rules on the books about carrying, have no signs posted prohibiting it, and the management do not acknowledge one way or another your decision to carry. Unless you tell me otherwise!

    STARBUCKS

    PRO-GUN BUSINESSES
The Pro-Gun list will be a shorter list of stores that have proved themselves to be true friends of gun-owners. I don't think it will be necessary to list every gun shop as a pro-gun store. And this mostly pertains to carry policies, but other aspects should be considered as well.

    NOTES
    Please think hard and contribute so we can get a respectable list going here. I will continue to edit the Original Post as we go. When adding a suggestion let us know the following;

    The name of the store.
The type of store (restaurant, clothing store, furniture, etc)
The address (at least what street the store is on).
    The town.
Summarized comments on what happened in the store.
Include a thread link where applicable, if it has been discussed elsewhere.
Is the comment regarding official policy or a mere encounter with an employee?

Starbucks can be considered pro-gun since they follow state law restrictions and don't place their own on firearms.

Also- Protest: please, please turn down the font size. I'm not sure if you are sight impaired, but that huge font makes it harder to read your posts and forces us to do a lot of scrolling just to read your posts.

I'm placing them as neutral since their statement is that they'll respect whatever laws are in that area.

Are those pro gun, anti gun or gun neutral?

Sorry all of these places have NEVER had any issue with my OCing for the past several years now. So I would have to assume they are at the very least neutral. :dunno:

Even the various Anderson City Officers that I've had contact with were PRO carry and well aware that I OC! One APD officer even helped me get back a weapon that had been stolen after it was used as evidence against the person in court! :patriot:

Charlie Brown's Pancake and Steak House in Speedway is pro-OC/CC (direct from owner earlier today). I have posted a meet-and-greet feeler thread in the Carry Issues and Self-Defense forum.

    Brownsburg, IN
Brownsburg area - all these are likely NEUTRAL, as I have often OC'ed without incident, but I also don't know their formal policy.

So Italian (Pizza and Pasta) on Main Street
    Long John Silvers
    McDonalds (both of them)
    Hardees
    Autozone
    Napa
Marsh (surprising, I know, but I have never had an issue)

Danville Area - once again, likely NEUTRAL:
    Krogers
    Frank's Italian Restaurant
    Dave's All American Pizza
    Mayberry Cafe

I'll add some more as I think of them!
