Should have seen the prices in the Caribbean.
    $1.25 for bacardi rum.
A can of pop was that much for one can.
And that was when it was 50 cent or so here.

If you bought a rum and coke, they filled the glass with rum, then added a finger or so of coke.

    So that's not normal? ;)

I don't know about the Navy, but it was my impression in the Army that they were fine with soldiers blowing their entire pay the first three days of the month and being totally dependent on them for the rest of the month.
PX alcohol prices were much higher than BX alcohol prices. I was really quite surprised when I saw the prices.

    Bread & Circus.
That's how you keep the people happy and distracted.
Plus, we had a bit of pressure to blow off.

Centuries of naval tradition right there.
There are new tricks, but the ol' salty dogs learned a thing or two about keeping a mob contained and under control.

This explains much...I have a very good friend who was in the navy. We had some good times when she would come home on leave. It was good that I had a very understanding boss back in those times. Probably helped that the boss was an alcoholic.

I just figured your auto incorrect was as bad as mine.

It may have been that...not sure how navy ended up as neighbor.

We were toasting a couple of friends last night that we lost to this damn virus. Might have had one more than I should have!

That's actually just a place holder until I can fingers and insert the appropriate meme.

(Fingers and insert left for comedic value)

Just been a crazy year+, not doing much of anything on the Internet. Don’t have much will to argue these days, probably going to just stick to the smoked meats and great outdoors stuff for the most part.
Well it's good to see ya back man. I still have brisket from September of 2018 btw. Got any freezer burnt venison to trade? :): (That would be the only fair trade.)
