As an example, I saw a thread where some person could have been perceived to promote herself as a "hot girl fishing".
I was not offended, but I can appreciate the fish being upset that folks might actually think she fished so I blocked out the fish to protect his feelings.

Let's examine your original statement.
As a Mod candidate, surely you recognize the pitfalls of making assumptions. You have no idea what's on the other end of that pole....it could be 50lb test and a dozen treble hooks, set up for snagging riverfish.
You really must try harder to avoid "stepping in it" if you want to be a Mod.
