I have a friend that is keeping me in steady supply of once fired 308 brass (Federal Gold Match, 168 gr Sierra Match King). I'm wanting to work up a load for my Springfield Socom II M1A. The barrel is 16" 's with a 1:11 twist. Most of my shooting is well within 200 yards since I'm only running a 2X magnified Aimpoint CompM2, but I would like to keep my shot as flat as possible. I don't want to run anything too hot and damage the operating rod, and have mostly shot MIL-surplus ammo in the past. Any suggestions or stories of past experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
