i believe even pistol grip shotguns are still considered long arms, it shouldn't matter as long as its over 18 bbl length and 26" overall.. so if you're talking about a mossy JIC gun or similar.. lemme measure..

not sure where they're measuring from but from end of bbl to back of receiver is just like 25.75, and then there's the grip.

Indiana makes up their own definitions at will:

    a

    IC 35-47-1-6
    "Handgun"
Sec. 6. "Handgun" means any firearm:
    (1) designed or adapted so as to be aimed and fired from one (1) hand, regardless of barrel length; or
    (2) any firearm with:
    (A) a barrel less than sixteen (16) inches in length; or
    (B) an overall length of less than twenty-six (26) inches.
Without a stock, regardless of barrel length, the shotgun is a handgun in Indiana.

the IC supports the ruling above yeah. completely ludicrous tho.

    what about folding stock guns?

Never heard of such a thing as not being able to carry a shotgun in your car. We used to carry them in racks behind the front seat of our pick-ups! The only thing I can think of is that there may be some local county or town odinance against it.

    Enjoy the beer! Cheers!

Fortunately, that is no longer the case. Local governments have been banned from local regulations on firearms or ammunition. This means no more local firearms ordinances.

You guys are missing one key point...they will both be breaking the law when they are riding around in their trucks with that loaded shotgun, drinking all those free beers!

So now you're arguing if it's illegal to drive with a loaded driver?

It's all good until someone shines a light out the window. That changes things.

Fairly certain there is an exception for shining rhinos. :D

'cept rhinos ususally shine themselves! :lmfao:
