I am looking for information on loads for the 38 S&W .... I really want to use powder I already have, most places I go and look recommend unique. I have some unique but its the old style and it burns so dirty.

Could I use Clays Universal or Tite Group ??? and if so how much would you recommend I start with. I have a chronograph and was thinking about a range of 500 fps. ???. I will be using the 158 gr. SWC lead bullet. I am just loading for shooting fun and just plan to target shoot this gun but I don't want to hurt it ....

    Thanks for you help......

Universal clays and Titegroup will both work well, esp with the 158 gr bullet. Unique will be too slow for that low of power load, it will get REALLY dirty at that level. Look up www.hodgdon.com and they have a free online loading Data section with lots of load possiblities for the .38. Good Luck

BTW, since Hodgdon now contols the powder brand sold as Winchester, the Winchester data is there also.
