I have a couple of blocks of reconstituted turquoise that I want to have some grips made from for 1911 & Ruger Mk series pistols. Would prefer someone local, any suggestions?

Although he's not local to you, I highly recommend INGO member WaltO if you can work out the logistics. He is in NW Indiana and makes some of the most beautiful grips I've ever seen, out of all kinds of materials. He's almost always at the Crown Point show.

Collins is pretty particular about what he works on, I think you'll have good luck with Walt. I'm curious about what reconstituted turquoise is, like bonded ivory?

No luck yet, kind of an odd material, no one has worked it before. As best as I can tell it is similar to bonded ivory, made from turquoise dust and resins or binders? Have sent a message to LOK, fingers crossed.
