I would consider it, but only if I could get a locking mechanism and only when my children grow up a bit. My oldest is 5; too young to trust.

When I had my Jeep I kept a T/C Contender chambered in 22 K-Hornet strapped to the roll bar. It was not super handy but the local varmint population was kept in check.
