Hey Gang...thought I would share my weekend project. It runs off a cell phone battery pack and I have tested it out to 750 yards so far but I know it is capable of 2+ miles. Most of the parts are garage sale finds or stuff I had laying around. I spent about $150 all in (I estimate $300 if you had to buy everything - still much less than the $650 - $1000 commercial systems). I can view the targets on my laptop, tablet or phone (zoom in, pan/tilt, video or stills). Until recently I was limited to 200 yard ranges but now I live where long distance is the norm (300-500 typical range)...and walking back and forth stinks!

UBNT for the win! I have a similar setup and it works well. I also have a short range setup using a airgatewayLR.

Very cool! We saw a similar, manufactured Caldwell setup that worked well at 750yds at Bass and Bucks last month. Are you thinking of making them for sale or is this a one off?
