    Mooresville
    Guys,

I live in Mooresville and looking into getting into long range. Any ideas where I can go to shoot? A new indoor range opening in Avon told me they heard of an 800 yard range in Bloomington? I know of one up by Lafayette but looking for closer.

800yds?! The only place I know of is Camp Atterbury, and that's only open for CMP/NRA OTC&NRA long range matches (maybe practice?) run by the "central IN high-power shooters". You can look them up at cihprs.org. To shoot with them, you have to get on a list with base security. The details are on the website.
As for Lafayette, that's "wildcat valley rifle&pistol club" (wvrps.org). Their range goes out to 300yds. It's a private club but they run CMP/NRA OTC matches too--open to the public-- which are geared to service rifles (or match rifles) using iron sights and no bipods. If you're looking to shoot a bolt-gun with a bipod and 4-24pwr scope, that's not really the venue.
Beyond that, I've heard that there are ranges in Fort Wayne (600yds), Evansville (400yds), and E. of Cinncinnati (miami rifle&pistol club?)--600yds I think. If you hear of something closer, let me know!:D
