Looking for 1911 parts

I'm looking for 1911 parts in the Indianapolis area. I hate ordering from brownells and midway because their pictures suck and are such low resolution as to give no sizeing or detail. I'm very particular about the feel of the parts I install. The parts may not be visible inside the gun but I feel the differences in how they interact that's why I like to see them up close to know whether it will fit my requirements.

Looking for suggestions on a shop that has the following parts for an original colt 1911.

Hammer
Sear
Grip safety
Thumb safety


I'd settle for a shop that stocks just the safeties.

I don't know if this will be any help to you or not. I don't know of any local dealers because I have looked around also for the same reasons you mentioned.
The best alternative I have come up with is Fusion Firearms

If you call on the phone the president of the company answers, Bob Serva.
He will answer all you questions and their online pics are good quality.
But you have to use the search feature to find anything on the website.

I think Elmore's in Greenwood carries some parts, or at least used to. There is an INDY 1500 this weekend as well, there may be some parts there.

For me, you don't have to go any farther than Ed Brown Products, 1911, parts or Infinity Firearms

Question - if you know what you like, don't you know what that is? I know that I like the feel of the ambi safeties on my 2011 because it is an Ed Brown. If I have another 1911 or 2011, that probably means that an Ed Brown ambi will go on that gun.
