I came across an interesting gun this summer and I haven't been able to find any info about it. It is a Hawthorne Model 110 (produced for Montgomery Ward). The serial # is EJN110. It has a 26" barrel with a fixed full choke. It is a single shot but what drew me to the gun is that the barrel release is located where the hammer would normally be. In fact, there is no hammer, it automatically cocks when you close the barrel. There is a thumb safety to prevent accidents. I paid $100 for this gun in pretty good overall condition so I figured I wouldn't be out much if it was a flop.

Anyone know anything about this gun? I would post pics but I don't have enough posts yet :dunno:

I believe these were made by Savage. Very little info is known about these. Seems like more guessing than facts out there.

Gunaraia is correct...I have one in 20 gauge here at the shop..It is a Savage 220 and was considered a higher end single shot SHOTGUN (not a "shotty") back in the day...Very well made and a steal at the prices people are asking....

Beautiful Savage 220 hammerless 410 (like 219) NR : Single Shot Shotguns at GunBroker.com

Here is a pic of one on gunbroker with an opening bid of $100 that has been listed numerous times with no bids...Amazing...If this gun was manufactured today it was cost over $400 and would not be walnut stocked...You have got a nice piece...Enjoy it....
