I'm tossing the idea around if it is practical for me to own a Luger P08 Commercial over a 1911. I have 1911's, I love 1911's, I would shoot 1911's but a Luger would most likely be a safe queen. Thoughts?

Nothing wrong with Lugers, they can be particular about ammo, usually like heavier bullets and faster burning powders. Good mags will be much harder to find.:)

I have to agree with Leadeye. I bought my first one back in Nov of 13. It was made in 1916 and still shoots like a dream. I'm not sure if it's the gun or the nostalgia, but I really enjoy shooting it.
I carried a 1911 for per. prot. for many years so I know where you're coming from. Mine prefers a 124gr bullet over the 115, so again Leadeye is on the money. And yes, good mags are at a premium. If you want an original, be ready to take out a second mortgage.
But for just fun shooting, they're hard to beat.
