    I bought an M& P 9 and liked it so much that I bought an M&P 9C about 6
months ago.I have only had it to the range once but it shoots great and has digested any ammo I put through it.
Have carried both guns in a CrossBreed Supertuck and the M&P 9C is
definitely easier to conceal and carry.
The magazines from the M&P 9 will work in the Compact so you can carry
a full size mag for backup. Also Midway USA carries a mag spacer that slips

Whatever rounds you choose to carry need to be ran through the gun at the range just to make sure that it will feed the properly. I carry Critical Defense rounds in my M&P pro9 and have put about 50 rounds of them through the gun with no problems. I will be trying them in my 9c the next time that I go to the range. Until then it will just get fed FMJ's.

As I've said numerous times, I have a $1000+ Kimber that I bought as my carry weapon and to this day it has yet to be fired or even taken out of the safe except for an occasional cleaning. When I decide to grab a carry gun or go to the range, the M&P 9C is still my goto gun every time.

+1 rep, could not have said it better myself. It does suck to drop $25 on a box of bullets just to go blow through them but you don't want to find yourself needing your gun and it's loaded full of ammo that won't run through it.
