So i have been on the M&P forums and there is a large debate about swapping a 40 barrel for a factory 9mm barrel. Anyone here have experience doing this? The measurements are like.002 off which makes some people believe the gun will go kaboom instead of boom.

depends on how much you like your hand. Why not just trade your fire arm in for a 9mm.

The only M&P converion I have thought about is getting the 357SIG barrel for my 40s. If I wanted a 9mm, Id have bought one. My :twocents:.

I got the 40 to carry but if I can shoot cheaper ammo for training purposes why not...but thanks for letting me know about your experience.

Honestly, I would just sell it and get the 9 as the difference will likely be less than a conversion barrel. The only thing you will be giving up is expensive ammo. Ballistically, there is no tangible difference between service caliber handguns using modern defensive ammunition.
