My grandfather is in his 80's and a vet of the Korean war. I have been wanting to purchase an M1 Service Grade Garand for some time but the only time I was able to make it to the north/south store they were out of them.
I talked to him over thanksgiving and found out that he trained with the M1 Garand in Basic and carried an M1 Carbine throughout the Korean War. I've been wanting to get one so that I can take it out with him and shoot it with him before I lose the chance. At first I was only interested in the Garand, until I learned that he actually carried the M1 Carbine, so I am looking for either one.
