I am a Winchester shot gun guy, but thinking about re-purposing my HD lineup. I have a well setup 1300 that I want to put a folding M-4 style stock on and would then make my seldom used SX2 my 'in the house, always ready to go' gun. I have removed the plug which give me one more round 3+1 and am now considering cutting down the Ithaca slug barrel to 18.5" to make it more manuverable indoors. I know my option from here but want to talk them out with some like minded individuals. With that said here is my dilemma, although I dont currently need this gun for either deer or waterfowl/turkey I would like it to still be available for such if needed. I could easily change back to my vent rib stock barrel and put the magazine plug back in for birds but how much will cutting the barrel effect my slug performance.

I know, I know, long post that could have be summed up in two sentences.
