MAPLE RIDGE (NEWS1130) - A Maple Ridge man is dead after a bizarre incident. News1130 has learned the man shot himself in the foot Thursday but failed to go to hospital and tried to handle his injuries alone.
Sergeant Murray Hedderson says Mounties found the man dead in a Fraser Street apartment Friday. "Foul play is not suspected in this matter. The exact cause of death has not been determined at this time. The name of the deceased is not being released at the request of the family."

Hedderson says the coroner will be doing an autopsy next week.

Goes to show you that firearm bans work. The guy was afraid he would get arrested if he went for treatment. It also shows how bad socialized medicine could be as the guy was afraid to seek treatment possibly knowing that not only would he not be treated immediately, but would then be arrested.

According to wikipedia handguns can have a ten round magazine, and rifles can only have a five round one. So I'd guess they'd have legal hand guns, just all sorts of registration and crap surrounding owning said gun. I know they can have more Chinese guns then we can stateside..... their loss.
