    Although I don't agree with some of his language, generalizations and characterizations, I do agree with his basic premise (and Mgderf of course). These programs are not charity. They are wealth redistribution programs plain and simple. I understand why some of these programs were started and continue and it really has nothing to do with charity. I can't really say much more due to the rules.

    I quit when he got into social security. For over 40 years my employers and I had money extorted from us to support this. I PAID FOR IT!! Had I the opportunity, I would have been pleased to invest that money on my own in my own retirement account.
