    In the Q&A section has some comments about durability of this particular pump and the fact that it won’t fit in a 4” well.

    Yeah, the reviews on this pump are pretty hit or miss, that is why I didn’t end up pulling the trigger, but amazon does have a good return policy, and if it works, it could be a very afordable solution to shtf water.

    The uncle of a friend replaced his submersible with a 48-volt pump that’s powered by solar and batteries. He also drilled a separate well in front of his house with a hand pump for neighbors to use during a grid down. He said he doesn’t mind them getting water but they’ll have to provide their own power.

    At the Ranch.
    We have a pitcher pump well in the front yard. The leathers dry out and it needs primed with a hose. If we remember, we try to get it to pump in the summer. Fill it up with the hose the let the boys pump until it starts to run. Rusty water at first, then it usually cleans out.
