    I just saw this "free giveaway" for a Marlin 1895. YEAH BUDDY! Sign me up. Wait, it's modernized? I'm sorry, if this is modern, I'll pass.
    What are the opinions on this one? Grab it or pass it?

    Trade bait the way it is.

    I could see turning that into a 1950's 1970's 35 rem SC and a 1960's 39a a brick of 22's and a couple boxes of 35 rem and a little cash for gas tank.

    Some people have to have the new look. Plus have you seen the price tag on new ruger 1895.

    I saw that, I entered the giveaway, and while I know I have a better chance of getting struck by lightning, If I won...I put wood furniture on it like God intended.....all that hi tech gee gaw stuff on levers makes me cringe.....YMMV

    Lever guns sure have gotten popular, prices reflect this. Origonal Winchester 1892 shooters, probably my favorite, are unbelievably expensive these days.
