Marlin Model 60 Project, part 1: Disassembly/Assembly

I think this is thee most thorough takedown I have ever seen. You do an awesome job at breaking it down and making it understandable. I've got quite a bit of clean up and I've gotta order a new buffer as well.

I would like to know your thoughts on taking the magazine follower apart for a thorough cleaning? Is it just the one pin keeping it all together? Can/should the pin even be removed? I've tried driving it out and it is very stubborn and made me think if it's even meant to come apart. Thank you again for the thorough takedown you've posted.
