Here is what I could find from wiki....Looks like the name is from David Duke's 1990 (25 years ago) online bulletin board and the website actually went public in 1994 (21 years ago) so the time frame seems correct IMHO..."an analogy with weather fronts that invokes the idea of a tumultuous storm ending in cleansing" seems kind of telling......

As I said....I want to know more about the dad and what kind of influence he was....The kids middle name is "Storm"...And unless his parents were hippies, Hollywood Stars, or Pop stars I am kind of curious about that name...

I wondered about that one, but I think the consensus was that it was a GFZ because the property owner had a no firearms policy. I do not think there was a CCWer there for that one, but they do get a bit jumbled in my mind.

Yes. It was a GFZ. Their policy still says no guns. Code of Conduct Having a CCer there doesn't change that.

Yes, that is the accepted definition. Of course, that immediately throws out most situations where an armed response is immediately available.
In other words, of course most of these events are in gun-free zones. People in areas where guns aren't prohibited are much more likely to stop the attack quickly. This leads people who can't think beyond step #1 that guns aren't used to stop mass killings.

The only one in the most recent years that's occurred in a non-GFZ has been Tucson, as it was in the parking lot of a grocery store and AZ is a Constitutional carry state.
