Thanks! is there a specific type of Mauser that has the small ring....as in Argentine 19xx, or Czech 19xx? Is it like 93 action, versus 98 action? Sorry to be a pain, this is not a life emergency, just curious,The "ring" is the front of the receiver (where the barrel screws in, basically). Here is a pic that might help.

You're welcome! I don't know if you're familiar with it, but if you want "the Bible" of military Mausers, pick up a copy of "Mauser Military Rifles of the World" by Robert Ball. Lots of info, plus lots of pictures. Really a "coffee table" type of book.Wow!, thanks DoggyDaddy!! as usual on INGO above and beyond!! Thanks so much this info is amazing, and helpful!!
