McCain's Caisson....

My girlfriends nephew is with the Caisson Platoon of the Old Guard at Arlington. He was chosen to ride lead for the McCain Caisson. I'm honored to know him..... He's from Morristown.

Congrats on an Honorable Post. For anyone who has never attended a Military Service at Arlington, it is somber and breathtaking at the same time. It is pin dropping quiet, even the horses seem to breathe quietly. The Escorts are snap tight in Presentations, and assist the families in their loss through the absolute respect and full service. A Caisson drawn in Arlington is a unique sound, and has to be an experience never forgotten. All Veterans deserve that.
I had the honor of attending a Full Military Service in Arlington for 8 MIA Servicemen who were found in a WW2 B-25, crashed in a jungle in 1944. In 2004 they were laid to rest. I still remember the sounds of the horses hoofs and the wheels of the Caisson rolling.

It is something to behold yet I hope to never have to again until the day it is my turn to be buried there with my brothers. Ive been to too many. If someone is traveling to D.C., do not sell yourself short and miss a short ride to Arlington. So much of our nations history and so many honorable men and women in one place. You will have goose bumps I promise.
