Me vs Duke Energy....what are my property rights?

I had a huge dead ash tree that stood at an angle and was clearly going to eventually smash their pole and line on my property. I called and tried to get them to cut it down and they wouldn't. They said it was my problem.

Until it falls then cuts the line.
Then it's their problem.

Had a dead ash tree that was in reach of the power lines. Called local REMC said they would look at it. After several weeks no show I cut it myself. Very impressed that you got asked.
